Meet our Staff

Dr. Sheldon R. Mann – Board Certified Endodontist

I appreciate the confidence and trust your dentist has place in me by referring you to my practice.  My staff and I look forward to meeting you and providing for your endodontic needs in a comfortable caring atmosphere.

I have practiced in Sarasota for over 15 years after retiring from the Air Force.  I graduated from the University of Virginia in 1968, flew over 1000 combat hours in B-52s during Viet Nam, before entering dental school.  Because I enjoyed the sciences, solving problems & working with my hands, I realized Dentistry provided me a route to combine these skills while helping others .  Even today I look forward to the challenges, interesting people and intriguing cases that I can diagnose and treat while providing  a needed service.

I graduated from University of Buffalo Dental School, and practiced general dentistry for four years before specializing in endodontics at the University of Texas and Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB.  As an endodontist,  I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, MacDill AFB Tampa , and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where I served as Centaf Commander of the Air Force Dental Corps during Desert Storm.

I completed my Board Certification in 1992, a three to five year process that includes a written exam, case presentations and an oral exam – an achievement that only 22% of all endodontists complete.  I’m  a past President of the Florida Endodontic Association, past chairman of  the Southern Endodontic Study Group, a Fellow in the American College of Dentists,, and presently serve on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Endodontists.

When I’m not working, I play golf, work on house and building projects, and travel with my wife, Robin, to visit our three children, Chris, Eric and Melissa, and our grandchildren Edwin and Maxine.

If you have any questions about my practice, please don’t hesitate to call and talk to my caring and courteous staff.  I look forward to meeting you soon.
